As national pharmacy chain Rite Aid continues to grapple with the aftermath of filing for bankruptcy last year, another 27 stores are slated for closure in two states, according to court documents.
Since filing in October last year, Rite Aid has identified and closed more than 500 stores nationwide, citing a need to "further reduce rent expense and strengthen overall financial performance.”
The closures started with over 100 stores in the initial round, with smaller swaths of roughly 10 to 30 stores shuttering in fits over the intervening months.

Saddled with billions of dollars of debt, Rite Aid filed for bankruptcy amid decreasing sales. The company also faced more than a thousand federal, state and local lawsuits accusing it of illegally filling painkiller prescriptions.
New court filings revealed the company plans to close 27 additional locations with an unknown amount to come. Here's a look at all of the Rite Aid locations that will shut down in the latest set of closures.
